Event Fabrication on Tour: The LIV Golf Indianapolis Custom Bar Project

Last time, we shared the custom entrance arch we built for LIV Golf’s event at Bolingbrook Golf Club from August 8 to 10. This time, we’re back on the road with LIV Golf, this time heading to Indianapolis for their event at The Club at Chatham Hills, running August 15 to 17. With thousands of spectators expected, we knew we had to deliver something just as bold and impressive as the last build.

If you’ve been following us on social media (and if not, here’s your sign to follow us on Instagram and Facebook), you’ve probably seen sneak peeks of our latest project: The Racing Tower Bar. This was one of the biggest and most challenging builds we’ve taken on. Designed to be portable, easy to set up and take down, and still look like a premium, permanent structure once in place.

When you’re creating for a touring event like LIV Golf, logistics are everything. The bar measured 13’ x 13’ with a height of almost 12’, yet it had to fit inside an 8’ x 8’ x 40’ storage container. Every single piece had to be considered for transport and designed for quick assembly without sacrificing stability or safety.

We broke the bar into modular sections so it could be loaded, shipped, and unloaded with ease. The thing with projects like these is that since they’re broken into sections, you have to make sure that they are stable and safe to use. Each piece has to well-thought out. That’s where the Chicago Fabrications team’s skill, planning, and good old-fashioned teamwork came into play.

We used 2x6 trusses for the framing for stability and strength. We used melamine and plywood for the bar counters and pillars for a clean and durable look. The roof was broken down into six sections, finished with a clear weatherproof seal for outdoor durability. We head out to Indianapolis to set up the bar days before the actual event date. We built a chipping game and trophy pedestal for them too… don’t forget to check them out. Once assembled, we applied paint finishing and added the stickers with LIV Golf’s branding.

The final look was a bold, black and green bar that stood out from every angle. The floating roof gave it a sleek, modern vibe, the clean lines kept it polished, and the open layout made it an inviting spot for guests to gather, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere. Seeing it go from technical drawings to a real, functioning centerpiece in the middle of a packed crowd was one of those moments that remind us why we do what we do.
